Overview

When you're traveling, your water source can change every time you stop. Campground hookups, marina water, and fill stations can each bring a different combination of sediment, metals, chlorine, chloramines, and other contaminants.

The Stream was designed specifically for that uncertainty.

Water passes through three dedicated filtration stages, beginning with a high-flow sediment filter, followed by acid-washed activated coconut shell carbon and KDF 85, and finishing with a 1-micron catalytic activated carbon filter.

Together, these stages help reduce sediment, iron, heavy metals, chlorine, chloramines, VOCs, and unpleasant tastes and odors while maintaining water flow up to 2.5 gallons per minute.

Compact enough to travel with you and simple enough to connect at your next stop, The Stream provides dependable filtration for drinking, cooking, showering, and everyday water use on the road or on the water.

3-Stage Filtration

Stage 1 — Sediment Guard Filter

A high-flow polypropylene filter featuring a radial pleat design that captures sediment and larger particulates such as sand and silt.

Removing these particles first helps protect stages 2 and 3 from premature clogging and allows the more advanced filtration media to do its job.

Stage 2 — Heavy Metals Defense Filter | 10 Micron

10-micron acid-washed activated coconut shell carbon filter infused with KDF 85 media.

KDF 85 is specifically used to help filter iron, while the activated coconut shell carbon provides an additional filtration stage for unwanted contaminants, tastes, and odors.

Media: Acid-washed activated coconut shell carbon + KDF 85
Micron Rating: 10 micron
NSF: NSF 42 and NSF 372

Stage 3 — VOC Guard Max | 1 Micron

The final stage uses 1-micron catalytic activated coconut shell carbon for more refined filtration.

Catalytic carbon is particularly useful for more difficult-to-reduce disinfectants and organic contaminants and helps reduce chlorine, chloramines, VOCs, and unwanted tastes and odors.

Media: Catalytic activated coconut shell carbon
Micron Rating: 1 micron
NSF: NSF 42 and NSF 372

Install

The Stream is designed for quick, straightforward installation at your RV, camper, boat, or other water hookup.

  1. Place The Stream in a secure location near your incoming water connection.
  2. Connect your incoming water source to the INLET side of The Stream.
  3. Connect the included hose and your RV or boat water connection according to the included installation instructions.
  4. Make sure all connections are secure before slowly turning on the water.
  5. Check each connection and filter housing for leaks.
  6. Before first use, run water through the system and out through the outlet into a bucket for approximately 5 minutes.
  7. Discard the initial flush water before connecting the system for normal use.

Filter Changes

When it's time to replace the filters, shut off the incoming water and release pressure from the system before opening the filter housings. The included sump wrench can be used to loosen the housings as needed.

Replace the cartridges in the correct Stage 1, Stage 2, and Stage 3 positions, reassemble the system, and flush the new filters for approximately 5 minutes before use.

Care & Storage

If The Stream will not be used for an extended period, remove the filters and drain the system thoroughly before storage. Do not leave standing water inside the system for extended periods.

Keep the system protected from freezing temperatures, excessive heat, and prolonged direct sunlight, and inspect all connections before putting the system back into use.

Refills & Related Products

Replace your filter pack every 6 months or every 1,400 gallons of use — whichever comes first. If The Stream has been stored between trips for an extended period, replace the filters before your next adventure to prevent bacteria from developing in the system.

Filters are color-coded by stage:

  • Dark blue caps — Stage 1: Sediment Guard Filter
  • Purple caps — Stage 2: Iron Heavy Metals Defense Filter
  • Green caps — Stage 3: VOC Guard Max
  1. Shut off the incoming water line to The Stream.
  2. Open the outlet briefly to release any trapped water and pressure.
  3. Use the included wrench to loosen each sump, then twist off by hand.
  4. Remove the old filter cartridges.
  5. Insert new cartridges in the correct order (Stage 1 → Stage 2 → Stage 3).
  6. Hand-tighten each sump back onto the manifold. Use the wrench only for a gentle final quarter-turn — do not overtighten, as this can cause the housing to crack.
  7. Slowly turn the water supply back on and check for leaks.
  8. Run water from the outlet into a bucket for 5 minutes to flush and activate the new filters. Discard this water before using.
