Overview

The 5-Micron Pleated Sediment Filter is designed for use as the first stage in a multi-stage water filtration system. It captures visible sediment and suspended particles before they can reach the system’s more specialized filtration media.

Its pleated construction provides greater filtration surface area than many traditional spun sediment cartridges. This allows the filter to hold more sediment while supporting a steady water flow, making it especially useful for homes and buildings with noticeable dirt, rust, sand, or recurring sediment in the water.

Using a dedicated sediment filter as the first stage can also help protect subsequent carbon, specialty resin, and contaminant-reduction cartridges from premature clogging.
